COTTON VISITS VILLAGE

I see Tom Cotton has made his first Senate campaign stop here in The Village. He immediately misrepresents himself by assuring the crowd that their phone calls and e-mails are not being intercepted by the government. This is either a statement made out of ignorance, or he is flat out lying. Phone records have been collected by the NSA since a court order signed by the secret court was given to the FBI on April 25. Millions of U.S. citizen phone calls have been turned over by Verizon. The Guardian made this public in June, after receiving a copy of the secret order. Mr. Cotton is either too busy campaigning to keep up with current events, or is over-using his attorney skills at misrepresenting the facts. Regardless, it shows how bad his campaign is going to be at misrepresenting the truth to justify his positions on numerous topics. And I'm sure the Village Republicans fell for it all. They are inclined to believe a lot of nonsense.
(As a side note: I noticed the American flag right behind him during his presentation. The picture was in the Village Voice. Nice touch).
