A 50 YEAR HIGH SCHOOL REUNION.

CRAP! THAT WAS A LONG TIME AGO. WE WERE 18. NOW WE ARE 68. I HADN'T SEEN MOST OF THOSE PEOPLE FOR 50 YEARS. SOME OF US CHANGED A LOT. SOME NOT SO MUCH. I COULD IDENTIFY ABOUT 2/3RDS, WE ONLY HAD 79 IN OUR CLASS. ABOUT A DOZEN HAVE DIED, AND ANOTHER DOZEN COULDN'T BE FOUND. I SUPPOSE THERE WERE ABOUT 35 OF US. FIFTY WITH SPOUSES. ANN AND I HAD A GOOD TIME. SHE IS A YEAR YOUNGER, BUT KNOWS MANY OF THE PEOPLE. THE 50 YEARS DID CAUSE A LITTLE COGNITIVE DISSONANCE IN ME, WHICH IS SORT OF A PSYCHOLOGICAL TERM FOR CONFUSION. MY MIND WAS REMEMBERING HOW WE LOOKED IN 1966 AND HAVING TO RECONCILE HOW WE ALL LOOK TODAY. (CAUSING COGNITIVE DISSONANCE IN CLIENTS IS A FAMILY THERAPY TECHNIQUE). ASIDE FROM ME LOOKING SLIGHTLY DAZED, THE WHOLE THING WAS GREAT FUN. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO WORKED ON IT, ESPECIALLY LINDA, WHO DIDN'T GET TO ENJOY IT. (HOPE SHE IS FEELING BETTER). SEEING EVERYONE REMINDS ME OF HOW IMPORTANT FRIENDS ARE, EVEN THOSE YOU HAVEN'T SEEN FOR 50 YEARS.
