Today, President Franklin Roosevelt signed into law the Social Security Act, in 1935. It was to improve the economic security for retirees and the unemployed. Today, right-wing Republicans want to get rid of it. It wastes too much money that they could be giving to their rich donors. It's hard to believe how greedy and heartless these people have become. They live all around me. These rich white folks could care less how others are doing. They have theirs, that's all they are worried about. Since they dislike social security, I suggest they give theirs back. You can guess how that discussion ends. I really don't get it. It disgusts me and makes me think mankind has taken a giant leap backward. We once again need to crawl out of the primordial ooze.
