We got about a third of the population out in Right-wing la-la land, wondering who they can screw next. They ain't got a clue. They listen to politicians who will will do whatever they can to make themselves richer and the rest of us poorer. But they hoop and holler for them and wave the flag and sing the song. Robotics has come a long way.  Another third of the population really don't give a shit. They gave up long ago. They're screwed and they know it. They can't even get up to fight. They're along for the ride. Oh, they'll bitch and moan at just about everything, but won't take the time away from the TV to work on any type of serious problems that might need their support. They are permanently depressed on life. Zombies. That leaves about a third of the people willing to do some work on the various issues that we need to solve, which ends up being just about everything. I get so many requests for time and money that I can't possibly keep up. I chose about five things that I try to keep up with and support. Some days it gets overwhelming, but I continue to believe that I, we, can make a difference.Many days I end up diagnosing myself as delusional. But every once-in-a-while....

THE WORLD ACCORDING TO THE PEEVER

• Handing out guns to everyone will only cause us misery. It is not an answer to fear. (I suppose it actually is an answer to fear). Our time in the text books will be known as the 2nd Dark Age.
• Still, in the midst of suffering, goodness and compassion will prevail. 

A LIBERALS TEN COMMANDMENTS

1. The rights of the individual are to be protected at all cost. Sometime this becomes very difficult.
2. Do unto others with kindness and compassion, understanding full-well that this does not always work out.
3. Question "conventional wisdom" as positively as you can. This is called "positive doubt."
4. Try to understand that your mind is not the epitome of reality. There are other ways to live and do business, currently over 6 billion of them.
5. Harming people in order to make money or gain "power" is never a good idea and a poor path for human beings to walk.
6. Big business will not conduct itself in an honorable way without oversight. Corporations are not humans insofar as they do not have emotions. They are cold-blooded. Unlimited profit is always the outcome of uncontrolled capitalism.
7. Any program that helps people rise up out of misery and despair is a program worth funding.
8. Religion and politics don't mix. The selling of religion is not a holy matter. It is right-wing Republican ideology.
9. Liberal means open-minded, understanding, generous, charitable, progressive, requiring the government to help all citizens, not just the chosen few. Conservative means closed-minded, orthodox, traditional, tightly dogmatic, unyielding, requiring the government to help only the rich. I happen to find liberalism more in touch with the human spirit.
10. When liberalism is excessive, it generally will cost us a lot of money. When right-wing ideology is excessive, it generally will cost us our freedoms and a whole lot of suffering. I feel it is an honor to be called a liberal, and will walk that path above the other until I die. Besides, the other is currently too well tread with right-wing stooges.
